THE FRENCH SCHOOL OF LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA

THE FRENCH SCHOOL OF LJUBLJANA; The French school of Ljubljana follows the educational programmes from the French Ministry of Education and is supervised by the pedagogical inspectors of the Southern AEFE Zone. (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger)

Established in 1991, the french school of Ljubljana is subsidized by the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad, part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The curriculum is in accordance with the programmes defined by the Ministry of National Education. The school also favors bi-cultural exchanges and the study of foreign languages (english, slovene, spanish...). It welcomes children from age two and is open to families from all nationalities, french and non-french speaking.

The school is divided into two main classes: a kindergarten section composed of a teacher, and two assistants - and a primary school section composed of a teacher for the main subjects, an english teacher and two slovene teachers.

A single-class high school section welcomes children from age 11 to 15. The education is based on long-distance learning following the CNED programmes (National Center for Long-Distance Learning), public agency of the Ministry of National Education. The curriculum is therefore equivalent to the one followed by high schools in France
