Winter Sales Kicking Off

Clothing and footwear shops in Slovenia are expected to be packed on Monday as winter clearance sales start, offering discounts of up to 60%. While discounts were already offered in the festive December, experienced shoppers will now be looking for bargains for more expensive pieces of clothing and footwear.

The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (TZS) expects that the clearance sales will be well visited, especially by those looking for skiwear, and announces that prices of some items will be lowered by as much as 60%.

"Winter sales at discounts are very well visited despite the fact that they take place at the end of the festive December and holiday gift giving," the TZS has told the STA, adding that prices will be lowered by at least 30%.

According to the chamber, consumers are mostly looking for high-quality items that could last several winter seasons.

Under the rules on seasonal clearance sales, winter clearance sales must not start before the first working Monday in January and can last up to 60 days.

Information on the clearance sale has to include the type of goods, discount and duration of the clearance sale.
