The Turkish government, led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has removed 20 high-level prosecutors from their posts.
t is the latest move in a purge of the Turkish judiciary, which Erdogan says is embroiled in a plot to undermine him with corruption allegations directed at his allies.
The High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), headed up by Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag, says Istanbul's chief prosecutor and several of his deputies are among those who have been reassigned.
The changes come a day after the government tightened its grip on the HSYK, which appoints all judges and prosecutors.
The actions hit at the heart of a corruption investigation - made public last month with a string of high-profile arrests - that has pitched Erdogan into one of the biggest crises of his 11 years in power.
