The poll, carried out by the market research firm Mediana, projects that the Citizens' List of Gregor Virant would garner 19% of the vote and Jankovic's Positive Slovenia 14%, Radio Slovenia reported on Sunday.

Besides the leading three parties, only the Social Democrats (SD; 6%), the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS; 4%) and the People's Party (SLS; 4%) would make the 4% threshold for parliament, shows the first of the polls to be conducted weekly for RTV Slovenija.

As many as 62% of the respondents said that they would definitely go to the polls in December, a further 15% said they would likely go, while 13% said they would definitely not vote and 6% were undecided.

Among those that would cast their vote, 29% support the SDS, 20% the Citizens' List of Gregor Virant and 18% Positive Slovenia. Apart from the three, only the SD and the DeSUS would make it to parliament.

Jankovic's party enjoys more support among women, while men prefer Virant's party, and the SDS and the SD enjoy equal support from both genders. The SD meanwhile garnered slightly more support among the respondents with higher education.

Positive Slovenia is also the favourite party among the young, while people aged between 30 and 49 prefer Virant's list. The SD on the other hand enjoys the highest support among those older than 50, the poll conducted between 7 and 10 November among 609 respondents shows.

The respondents moreover said that the deciding factor for their choice was the party's programme, followed by the party's previous actions, the party's leader and the party's appearances at election debates.
