Summer open air events in the city centre

The musicians of the WIND ORCHESTRA on boats plying the Ljubljanica river are to be seen and heard again this year, at 6pm on 4, 6, 11 and 13 July.

On Sundays, those near the Ljubljanica river are to be entertained by the Ljubljana Musical Youth playing MUSIC ON THE WATER. They can be enjoyed on Sundays throughout July and August from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
All those who find themselves in Gornji trg on Fridays at 8.30pm will be able to listen to JAZZ IN GORNJI TRG (every Friday until 26 August).

Gornji trg is also the venue for the MEDIEVAL FAIR on Sundays (24 July, 21 and 28 August, 4 and 11 September) an event that runs from 10am to 3pm, and features, in addition to the small fair and related goings-on, a theatre performance with medieval comedies (11am and 1pm each Sunday).
As in previous years, Sundays are going to be livened up at the Pavilion in Zvezda Park where PROMENADE CONCERTS are to take place throughout July, August and September, starting at 11am and finishing at 3pm.
The traditional international MINI SUMMER festival is aimed at children and runs on Sundays (until 30 August) at Križevniška ulica and at Ljubljana Castle.

The LIBRARY UNDER THE TREETOPS is running at four sites this year: every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the end of August in Tivoli Park, on Trnovski pristan and at Ljubljana Castle, and on Saturdays on the panoramic terrace on Petkovškovo nabrežje.

At 11am every Saturday until the end of September, the City Hall balcony is the venue for the LJUBLJANA WHISTLERS. Half an hour later, at 11.30, the Whistlers appear at the Ljubljana Castle tower.
On Breg, Saturdays until the end of October are reserved for the ARTS AND CRAFTS MARKET from 9am to 4pm, while Sundays see an ANTIQUES FAIR which takes place from 10am to 2pm.
This is just a brief selection of summer events, while the whole summer events' schedule can be checked out at www.visitljubljana.si/en.

If you are taking a stroll, don't forget the open-air galleries: in Tivoli there is a photographic exhibition of the work of Žiga Koritnik until 30 August, while a photographic celebration of the 20th anniversary of Slovenian independence runs on Krakovski nasip until 25 August.
