Slovenian Tourism Presented in China

Slovenia is presenting its tourist destinations in China. A workshop on Slovenian tourism was held in Shanghai on Tuesday, attracting representatives of more than 100 Chinese travel agencies and media outlets specialised in business.

Slovenian tourism will also be presented between Wednesday and Friday at the 10th China Outbound Travel & Trade Market in Beijing.

Both events are jointly organised by the Slovenian SPIRIT agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship, investment and tourism and the Croatian Tourist Board under the slogan "Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia".

Besides SPIRIT, the Slovenian delegation in China features representatives of eight travel agencies and the Association of the Slovenian Natural Spa Resorts.

China as a tourist market is growing rapidly. The Chinese are coming to Slovenia primarily in the summer months, and are interested the most in larger cities and mountain resorts and other natural sites, according to SPIRIT.

The number of Chinese quests in Slovenia increased last year by 28% compared to 2012, with the number of overnight stays going up by 24%.
