The number of tonne-kilometres was also up 8% to 15.9 billion. Only 17% of this was generated in domestic transport, which meanwhile accounted for 74% of the total volume of cargo transported by roads.
The volume of cargo transported from Slovenia abroad was up 23% in 2010 compared to the year before, while cargo transport from abroad to Slovenia increased by 6%, according to the office.
Ores and rocks accounted for 39% of goods transported in 2010, and in domestic transport their share was 50%.
Companies transported 17% more goods than in 2009, while individuals saw their overall volume of transported cargo drop by 8%.
