Ski World Cup: Maze Keeps Lead after Bansko Super G

Slovenia's best Alpine skier Tina Maze took second place in women's super G World Cup race in Bulgaria's Bansko on Monday, finishing 0.16 seconds behind Austria's Anna Fenninger, who closed on the overall World Cup leader Maze to 44 points.

The top three finishers in Bansko are the same top three in the super G at the recent World Championship in Beaver Creek, as the third place was claimed by Lindsey Vonn of the US (+0.28).

Fenninger is meanwhile in the lead in the super G World Cup standings, with Vonn trailing her by 32 points and Maze by 122 points.

Slovenia's Ilka Štuhec finished 13th (+1.66), which is her second-best World Cup result this season after the 11th place in the downhill in St. Moritz at the end of January.

There are eight events left in the women's World Cup, with the next two coming this weekend in Germany's Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
