Ski Jumping: Bardal celebrates maiden win of season

Norway's Anders Bardal celebrated his first win of the season on Sunday when he leaped to a World Cup victory at the Polish resort of Zakopane.

With the second round of jumping cancelled due to heavy rain and high winds it was all down to the competitors' first attempt on the large hill.

Bardal took top honours with a jump of 131.5 metres for a points tally of 127.

It was his sixth career World Cup win, third in Poland, second in Zakopane and first this season.

Slovenia's Peter Prevc claimed the runners up spot with 124.7 points.

That result moved him up to third in the overall World Cup standings behind leader Poland's Kamil Stoch and Austrian defending champion Gregor Schierenzauer.

Rounding off the podium in third place on the day was Germany's Richard Freitag.
