The Novo mesto-based car maker Revoz, a subsidiary of Renault, is hiring additional 450 workers to boost the production of the new Twingo and Smart ForFour models by a third. The company will have created 1,000 new jobs with its two new production lines by the end of the yea.
Management board member Franci Bratkovič told the press on Thursday that more than 200 new workers have already been hired and are to begin training in the coming days. The rest are to sign contracts in the coming weeks.
The plant is currently operating in two shifts and will introduce a night shift in December, which will increase the company's capacity from 600 to 800 cars a day.
The new Twingo model takes up two-thirds of Revoz's capacities and the Smart ForFour the rest, said the management board member.
