The coalition will also request an extraordinary session at which the National Assembly will decide on petitioning the Constitutional Court to examine the referendum initiative by the KNG trade union.
Monday marks the start of the 35-day period in which the proponents need to collect 40,000 signatures to call the referendum, in line with Speaker Gregor Virant's decision earlier this week.
The parliamentary speaker set the date after a recount of signatures collected by the Trade Union of Chemical, Non-Metal and Rubber Industries (KNG) showed the number was sufficient for a referendum initiative to be valid.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue between the union and the Finance Ministry on potential withdrawal of the initiative, but little progress has been made so far.
Tanko announced the motion in which the coalition will ask the country's top court to ban the referendum on the grounds that it would create unconstitutional consequences at a session of the college of deputy group leaders, who decided the timetable of the regular parliamentary session starting on Monday.
The session will open with the questions time featuring the PM and ministers. On Tuesday most time will be dedicated to changes to the small business act, while MPs will also debate changes to the animal protection act, food safety act, veterinary act and healthcare act.
Wednesday's agenda includes legislative motions dealing with electronic communications, children with special needs, cultural heritage, insurance and public procurement. Before closing the session, MPs will also vote on the motions.
