PM Finally Proposes New Ministers

Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek has nominated new ministers for economic development and technology, health and Slovenians abroad in a government shuffle which follows the resignations of economy and health ministers in November last year.

Bratušek asked parliament to confirm Metod Dragonja for economic development and technology minister, Alenka Trop Skaza for health minister and Gorazd Žmavc for minister for Slovenians abroad.

The nominations come after weeks of coordination among coalition partners on a renewed coalition contract and a reshuffle following the resignations of Economy Minister Stanko Stepišnik and Health Minister Tomaž Gantar in November.

The vacated positions had been held by the senior coalition Positive Slovenia (PS) and the smallest coalition partner, the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS), respectively, while the reshuffle has now allowed PS to assume the economic and health portfolios while ceding the department for Slovenians abroad to DeSUS.
