Opposition in Poland to EU’s new fiscal treaty

If Germany and France thought the UK was alone in objecting to their new fiscal deal, they can look no further than central Europe to see more discord.

Demonstrator Andrzej Hadacz complained:" We've heard strange announcements by Foreign Minister Sikorski who says that he wants to give part of Polish sovereignty to Brussels, so that they will be governing us over here. This is a scandal and should be punished." But Poland's pro-business Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes deeper EU integration is essential to his country's security and prosperity.
