Olimpija Miss Europa League Playoffs

Olimpija of Ljubljana are out of the UEFA Europa League, having lost 2:3 to Austria Vienna in the third round of qualifying for the playoffs late on Thursday and 3:4 on aggregate.

Things did not look up for the Slovenian club, as the home team pulled ahead 2:0 through Nacer Barazite in the 18th and 46th minute.

But the Slovenians managed an impressive turnaround after Alexander Gruenwald was sent off with a red card in the 50th.

Dare Vrsic made it 1:2 in the 54th and Boban Jovic scored the equaliser only five minutes later.

The joy was short-lived, as Austria were awarded a penalty shot twenty minutes from time and Barazite converted it for a hat-trick.

Both teams had several more opportunities in the final minutes of the game but Austria managed to hold on to the lead.
