Jens Stoltenberg has announced his resignation as Norway's prime minister and conceded defeat in the country's general election.
It follows the opposition Conservative party's landslide victory which paves the way for its leader Erna Solberg to form a government.
Nicknamed "Iron Erna" for her tough stances, she will be Norway's first conservative leader since 1990 and its second female prime minister.
She has promised tax cuts and better healthcare however she faces hard coalition talks with a populist party that wants to spend more to curb immigration.
Solberg's coalition may include the anti-immigration Progress Party, a prospect that sits uncomfortably with many.
The party used to count among its members Anders Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people just over two years ago in a gun and bomb attack that targeted young Labour Party activists.
Although Progress has toned down its rhetoric, it is still widely seen by many as too radical for government, and other small political parties have voiced their reluctance to team up with Progress in government.
