NLB Grants EUR 680M Loans in First Six Months


Slovenia's biggest bank, NLB, issued about EUR 680m in loans in the first half of 2013, a quarter of which were new loans. Costs were down 13% year-on-year, the bank said after Friday's meeting of the supervisors. The supervisory board reaffirmed its confidence in the management's efforts to restructure the bank.

 


The banks has regained some of the activity on the market in terms of new customers and projects, with a particular focus in the first six months of the year being activities in the areas of micro, small and mid-sized companies, the supervisors said.

 

The bank also completed the first stage of the planned reorganisation, cutting the number of organisational units, optimizing its use of office space and reduced by half he number of decision-making bodies.

 

The supervisors also reviewed a number of documents, including a report on measures related to the bank's contract with recruitment agency Korn Ferry International.
