Minority in Hungary Gets New Meeting Point, Training Centre

Ministers responsible for agriculture and Slovenians abroad, Dejan Židan and Gorazd Žamvc, have opened a model Slovenian farm in the village of Gornji Senik (Felsoszölnök), one of the villages that is home to Slovenian minority in Hungary.

The farm will serve as a meeting point and a training centre for the community, the government Office for Slovenians Abroad said in a press release on Wednesday.

The farm, a joint project of the two departments, aims to boost tourism and agriculture, according to Žmavc, who believes the farm will also strengthen the identity of the Slovenian minority in the Raab river valley.
