Culinary specialities will include dishes from Slovenia's many regions, but also those from outside the country - all gathered in one place, said project manager Lior Kochavy at a recent press conference.
The organizers of the project dubbed "Odprta kuhna" (Open kitchen) want to achieve two goals.
Firstly, to offer the people of Ljubljana, as well as domestic and foreign tourists a place to taste interesting dishes, some even freshly prepared at the marketplace.
And secondly, to give the restaurants, caterers and master chefs the opportunity to present themselves to the public and build their reputation, as well as give them the chance to sell food on the spot.
"But our most important goal is to expand the Slovenian food culture and create a place where families, friends and business partners can enjoy a wide range of culinary specialities", Kochavy said.
The Open Kitchen will be open every Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM until October.
