Libya’s government accepts peace roadmap

Muammar Gaddafi played host to the diplomatic delegation which included South Africa's President Jacob Zuma. The aim of the meeting in Tripoli was to arrange a ceasefire between rebel forces and those loyal to the Libyan leader.

According to reports political reforms and even a Gaddafi exit were discussed but no official details have been released. The delegation is due to meet with rebel representatives later in Benghazi.

It was Gaddafi's first appearance in front of the foreign media in weeks.

He seems to have strong support in the Libyan capital and but so far opposition forces have refused to discuss a ceasefire without his removal along with that of the rest of his family.
