Kolektor Expands Production in Bosnia

Kolektor, the Idrija-based industrial conglomerate, has opened a new production hall at its location in Laktaši in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The investment will be worth an estimated EUR 10m after the hall is fully equipped in the course of the coming five years.

Kolektor said it decided to expand in Laktaši ten years after it launched production at the location. The 6,000 square metres hall comes on top of what were 4,000 square metres of production surface so far.

"We started from scratch ten years ago, while we have 350 employees now and EUR 18m of turnover," Kolektor CEO Radovan Bolko said on the occasion, pointing out that the Laktaši location has seen the biggest growth among all of Kolektor's plants.

The company expects to double sales in the plant's commutator, hybridics an magnetics programmes in the coming 10 years. The Laktaši workforce is also planned to increase to at least 450.

The launch was attended by Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik as well as Slovenian Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek.
