French Finance Minister Visits Slovenia

French Finance Minister Michel Sapin will pay a visit to Slovenia on Friday to exchange his country's positions on topical EU issues with his host, Slovenian counterpart Dušan Mramor, according to the Slovenian Finance Ministry.

The ministers are expected to discuss the situation in the eurozone, particularly in indebted Greece, as well as the EU's 300bn investment plan.

France having suffered a terrorist attack in Paris last month, Mramor and Sapin will also broach the fight against financing terrorism but also against tax evasion.

The ministers will then hold a news conference at 2 PM in the Vila Podrožnik mansion in Ljubljana.

The French minister will also meet President Borut Pahor and Slovenian central bank governor Boštjan Jazbec, the ministry said in a press release.

Sapin's visits comes less than a month after Slovenia was visited by Alain Richard, the French foreign minister's representative for economic ties with the Balkans.

His meetings with Slovenia's top officials on 2 February focussed on the situation in the Western Balkans and economic cooperation.
