Exports With Continious Solid Growth


Slovenia's merchandise exports keep growing, while imports have been on the decline. The latest statistical data shows exports rose by 2.2% in April on the same month a year ago to EUR 1.959bn.


Imports fell by 0.5% in the period to EUR 1.895bn, creating a trade surplus of EUR 63.5m. The export-import ratio stood at 103.3% in April, data from the Statistics Office shows.

 

Exports to EU markets were up 3.3% year-on-year to EUR 1.469bn, while imports from those markets fell by 1% to EUR 1.484bn. Trade with the EU accounts for about three-quarters of Slovenia's foreign trade.

 

 

Goods exported to non-EU countries fell by 1% y/y to EUR 489,4m in April, while the value of imported merchandise rose by 1.2% to EUR 411.2m.

 

Exports in the January-April period rose by 5.4% compared to the same period last year to EUR 7.550bn. Imports fell by 0.9% to EUR 7.333bn with the surplus at EUR 216.9m and the export-import ratio at 103%.
