Consumer Confidence Up Slightly in December


Consumer confidence in Slovenia was up one percentage point in December on the monthly basis as consumers expressed optimism regarding the financial situation in households and the possibilities for savings in the next 12 months, according to data from the Statistics Office.


The indicator on the expectations of the financial situation in households was up by three percentage points, and the indicator on the possibilities for savings in the next 12 months was up by two points.

 

 

The outlook of the economic situation in Slovenia and unemployment in the next 12 months has not changed, the Statistics Office said on Tuesday.

 

The consumer confidence index was also up by 14 percentage points both year-on-year and compared to the monthly average for 2013.

 

The increase is attributed to more optimistic projections regarding the economic situation in Slovenia (up 22 points), unemployment (up 17 points), financial situation in households (up 13 points) the possibilities for savings in the next 12 months (up five points).
