China, Afghanistan and SE Europe Topics of Final Day at Bled Forum


China and its potential role in helping boost economic growth in Europe will be the theme of the opening panel at the lakeside resort featuring WTO Deputy Director-General Alejandro Jara, and Zhu Liqun, Secretary-General of the China National Association for International Studies, among others.

 

 

Afghanistan after the departure of international forces will be in the focus of the second panel, which will be chaired by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and feature representatives from Afghanistan as well as NATO Assistance Secretary for Operations Stephen Evans. High profile guests are also expected for the final debate, on the challenges faced by the EU in SE Europe, including Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, Montenegro Foreign Minister Nebojša Kaluđerović and Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić. The seventh edition of the annual forum got underway on Sunday and has attracted more than 300 delegates from around the world. The central topic is Europe's role in a reshaped global environment.
