Agrokor Publishes Bid for Outstanding Mercator Shares

Croatian conglomerate Agrokor published Thursday an offer to buy the remaining 47% stake in grocer Mercator that it does not already own. The bid, like the original takeover priced at EUR 86 per share, values the outstanding stake at EUR 152m and is valid through 1 September.

The heavy rainfall in July set back salt production at Sečovlje on the Slovenian coast for several months. No salt has been produced so far, but production manager Dario Sau remains optimistic, hoping the production would pick up in August and September.

Slovenia Loses Landmark LB Court Case in Strasbourg

Slovenia has lost a landmark ruling in the case of Yugoslav-era foreign currency deposits at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, which ruled that Slovenia will have to find a solution for compensating deposit-holders with unpaid deposits at the defunct LB bank in Sarajevo within a year. The verdict by the Grand Chamber is final.
