In a hard-hitting interview, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attacked the opposition.
"Of course the opposition groups will achieve nothing. They wanted to take the shine off the Iranian nation by trying to throw dust at the sun. I am not talking about some uninformed people. I am addressing those who are the organisers and plotters. This dust will definitely be thrown back into their own eyes." the president said.
In parliament, conservative Iranian MPs called for the two leading opposition figures Mir Hossein Moussavi and Medh Karraoubi to be executed for creating public disorder.
Monday's march in support of the Tunisian and Egyptian popular uprisings turned violent as Iran's security used tear gas and gun fire to crackdown on the rally. The two people who died have been named as Sanee Jaleh and Mohammad Mokhtari.
One aide to opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi accused the regime of having blood on its hands.
Ardeshir AmirArjomand said in a telephone interview: "We hold the government responsible for the killing of these two Iranian citizens. The government cannot blame it on others, it is responsible for this. The government should also not try to confiscate the bodies of the Green Movement martyrs. After it has confiscated the people's votes, the government is now confiscating the individuals' bodies."
